The Sam & Hannah Obura Education Awards Make a Real Difference in Kenya, Africa
The awards provide for students to receive an education at Mudhiero Secondary, but the funds do much more than provide scholarship aid. Students impacted by the Sam & Hannah awards receive an enduring education that extends beyond classroom walls.
The Cassava Club, est. 2019 by Pheline Omondi & Sally Mallowa
The Cassava Club is an initiative established in 2019 by a former Mudhiero alumni and current biology and agriculture teacher, Pheline Omondi, alongside Augustana University biology professor Sally Mallowa.
The club's aim is to incentivize and engage students to learn and recognize more practical approaches in village agriculture.
Through hands-on work and using technology and apps for disease diagnosis, students learn the agronomy principles of disease management—a critical, important life skill.
Science Show
The Science Show occurs in addition to the awards ceremonies. Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents through different demonstrations and experiments.
